Chapter 2 - Can’t Help It
“So,
y’all mind me asking where you’re from?” Mike asked as
he followed Naomi and Adrianna to their car.
“Uh, we drove from
“
“Don’t act so
surprised. You’d want to get out too.” Naomi said defensively.
“No, I
understand.” Mike chuckled. “I’ve been there a few times.”
“Why? What
were you thinking?” Naomi asked, shocked.
“I…uh, just
went with a friend of mine. He travels a lot, you could say.”
Naomi
popped the car trunk and Mike’s eyes grew wide when he saw how much the girls

“We left a
few cactuses behind, but other than that…” Adrianna teased.
It only took the three of them five

then a smile appeared on her face.
“Race ya!”
she yelled as they darted for the door. They hurried down the stairs, only
pausing to throw their shoes off before they both dove into the cool water.
Staring at each other through raccoon eyes, decorated with smeared mascara, the
girls splashed one another and giggled loudly.
“I won!” Naomi hollered proudly.
“No way! I
had you by a mile!” Adri argued.
“I’d say it was a toss up.” Said a voice from above. The girls looked up to find their
new friend watching them from the balcony by his door.
“How long have you been standing
there?” Adrianna asked, shocked.
“Long enough.”
Mike replied. “What’s the matter, couldn’t get to your suits?” he teased.
“Exactly.” Naomi stated. He shook his head, laughing in disbelief.
“You guys are insane.”
